Get Up to $150 Back on Gas Appliance Maintenance This Season

October 16, 2026 | By Alpine Plumbing & Heating

Cold, wet Lower Mainland winters put real demand on your heating and hot water equipment. Regular servicing keeps it running safely and efficiently, and right now FortisBC is helping cover the cost. When a licensed gas contractor services your eligible appliances, you could receive up to $150 in rebates through the FortisBC Appliance Maintenance Rebate.

Here’s what qualifies, who can apply, and how to claim your rebate.

Which Appliances Qualify for the Rebate?

The program covers professional servicing of the following natural gas appliances:

Please note: storage tank water heaters and outdoor fireplaces are not eligible for this rebate.

Why Annual Gas Appliance Maintenance Matters

Skipped maintenance is one of the most common reasons we see heating breakdowns on the coldest nights of the year. A professional tune-up helps your equipment:

  • Run safely, with burners, venting and safety controls checked
  • Operate efficiently, so you’re not paying for wasted gas
  • Last longer, by catching worn parts before they fail
  • Stay under warranty, since most manufacturers require regular servicing

Rebates for Strata Units, Townhomes & Condos

Many townhomes and condos across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley have their own gas furnace, tankless water heater or fireplace inside each unit. If the unit has its own residential FortisBC gas account, the owner can claim the rebate for that unit’s eligible appliances.

For strata councils and property managers, we can schedule building-wide maintenance days and service multiple units in one visit. That means less disruption for residents, and every owner receives an individual invoice to submit with their rebate. Learn more on our Commercial Plumbing page.

How to Claim Your FortisBC Appliance Maintenance Rebate

  1. Book your service with a licensed gas contractor like Alpine Plumbing & Heating.
  2. Keep your invoice. We provide a detailed invoice listing each appliance serviced.
  3. Apply online within 60 days of your invoice date, using your FortisBC gas account number.
